Oriol Alcoba is an industrial engineer trained at UPC, he holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from IQS and an Executive MBA from EADA Business School, and he is currently working on his PhD in Innovation Management. He is a visiting professor at ESADE, UPC and UPF, where he teaches innovation and technology management. Besides, he has been member of several research and technology institutions in Catalonia.
He started his professional career in 1998 with the development of R+D projects at Centre CIM (UPC). After 5 years focused on managing environmental services at Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, Oriol served as the Director of Clusters Development at 22@Barcelona, the innovation district in Barcelona.
He was also Director of the Technology Transfer Division at ACC1Ó, the public agency which aims to improve competitiveness of Catalan firms through innovation, internationalization and financing programs. His mission was to design, implement, coordinate and manage policies and instruments to promote the technology market in Catalonia, as a tool to provide a competitive advantage to Catalan companies.
Currently, he is Corporate Development Director of Barcelona Media, an innovation center which develops multimedia technologies and solutions for the media sector.
